Shipping & Receiving Clerk - In-Person
JOB SUMMARY:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will assist in vendor and customer relations & help coordinate incoming and outgoing shipment activities.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Verify all incoming and outgoing shipments
- Receive shipments in ERP system
- Handling and disposition of materials and keeping warehouse inventory current
- Directs salvage of damaged or used material
- Maintains warehouse in neat and orderly manner
- Assists with government packaging requirements
- Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities, such as, sales, records control, and purchasing
- Research OSHA regulations & hazardous materials regulations

- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems
- Good customer/supplier relations skills

- Sage 100 (Mas90) experience a plus
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This job operates in a clerical office setting as well as in a warehouse setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines in addition to standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, tape dispensers, forklifts, and pallet jacks. The physical demands to successfully perform the essential functions of this job are as follows:
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Reach with hands and arms
- Talk and hear
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance
- The employee must routinely lift and/or move items weighing up to 10 pounds, frequently handle items up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift or move items weighing over 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and an ability to adjust focus
POSITION TYPE/ EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. ET
TRAVEL:
Up to 10% travel a year for training seminars or locally during the business day.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working knowledge of ERP systems with Sage 100 experience a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Experience using Fed-Ex software a plus
- Experience using forklift and pallet jack
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
PAY:
$16.00 – $18.00 (hourly rate)
